Happy Friday everyone! I am so thankful it’s the weekend, are you?
Today I am introducing my newest blog that will be published each Friday! SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!
What is the senior spotlight blog? Well, it is a place where Kristin Clardy Photography’s high school seniors have their very own moment to brag about all of the accomplishments they have had over their senior year and throughout their high school career! This is a place where being humble is not allowed! These seniors have worked hard and they deserve a place to share with the world how awesome they are!
I am super proud of the seniors I have had the privilege of meeting photographing this year! You guys should know that the class of 2019 is amazing! These students are inspiring, hard working, caring, and so much more! I will let these spotlights speak for themselves, you will see!
Kristin Clardy Photography is proud to put the spotlight on Taylor Batson today! This girl is on fire! She has, and continues to accomplish so much! Taylor is selfless, she cares about others and is willing to help them in any way she can. That is one of my favorite qualities about her. As you read our very first senior spotlight, you’re going to be blown away by how awesome Taylor is! She’s super woman I’m pretty sure!

When I was young, I use to imagine myself as…..
A professional cheerleader.
What are your plans after high school? Education/Career?
I will attend Lander University in the fall of 2019 as an honors college student and will pursue my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
What is your favorite high school memory?
Traveling to New York City with the Pendleton High School Singers and singing in Carnegie Hall!
What will you miss the most after graduation?
I will most definitely miss those Friday Night Lights!
What class have you enjoyed most?
Although I only took the class for two years, Sports Medicine was the class I enjoyed the most. I developed an interest in this subject and found myself excited to attend the class.
Whom do you admire and why?
Trish Riser is someone I will always admire. Ms. Riser is my AP Language and Composition teacher and Pendleton High School. Ms. Riser and I grew very close this year. She is not afraid to ask for help when she needs it, she has taught me that the most important thing in life is to be happy and to be myself, and she was there for me when no one else was. I admire her from a student’s perspective as she goes out of her way to ensure all of her students succeed. She has inspired me to be the teacher that goes the extra mile for her students academically and personally. I will forever be grateful for Ms. Riser and I can’t wait to come back to Pendleton High School in the future to visit her.
If you had the opportunity to travel anywhere, where would you go? Why?
Because of my traveling opportunities during high school (Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, New York City, Alabama, Oregon, California, and Colorado soon), I have definitely caught the travel bug! I have had the opportunity to see the beauty of our country by traveling to other states, but also seeing the beauty of our world by traveling to other countries. I hope to study abroad during my time at Lander University and continue to travel the world!
What three words best describe you?
Humble, determined, and compassionate.
Ready, set, tell us anything else awesome you have accomplished this year or even through your high school career!
The summer before my Sophomore year, I was crowned Young Miss Teen South Carolina. Throughout the year, I traveled the state participating in numerous volunteer activities, parades, raised money for Children’s Miracle Network, and met so many new people! Pageantry is what made me into the person I am today and is also what made me want to teach! Of course, my mom is the heart and money behind all of it. I can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for me.
